Vernon is emerging as a must visit mountain biking destination. Located in the North Okanagan, Vernon shares the enviable lifestyle of other Okanagan communities - beaches and peaches - but has the added benefit of having great hillsides and mountains right next to the city. Nearby Silver Star, Kalamalka and Ellison Provincial Parks – all have mountain biking trails. The trails are developed and maintained by the North Okanagan Cycling Society. The beauty of some of these trails is that you can jump in the lake after a great ride!
Silver Star Mountain Resort is located just 25 minutes from downtown Vernon and has lift accessed trails with over 50 km of dedicated downhill trails and 1600 vertical feet of great terrain. The trails have been created to be progressive and meet a full range of riding expectations from beginners to experts.
North Okanagan Cycling Society (NOCS) is a not for profit group that provides positive trail experiences for mountain bikers in the North Okanagan. We build, maintain, ride, protect and advocate for new trails. We're the voice for mountain biking in the North Okanagan.
