During high school in the mid 2010s my favourite mobile game was Dungeon Raid. Unfortunately at some point the devs stopped updating the game for nee devices and Dungeon Raid was lost to us. This game is basically Dungeon Raid remade from the ground up, and while I did prefer the original’s cartoony graphics this is as faithful of a remake as you can get. Same price as the original too, despite it being 10 years later. Here’s to hoping this one isn’t abandoned too in the future.

Is there a technical reason the game isn’t full screen? There’s a blank area about the size of where ads would be displayed.

So obviously it’s fantastic to have this game in my collection again…the app that inspired it was maybe my first iPhone purchase back in the day and I love how this game works. However, after one play through I unlocked a new class. Playing that class, I got to like level 23 with tons of unlocks reported. When I went to check them out, tho, I found exactly zero unlocked. No new classes, traits, skills. I’m assuming this is a a bug, especially since unlocks have apparently been an issue in the recent past? If that bug is squashed, tho, this is easily a 5-star game….

I had a sudden memory of Dungeon Raid, which led me to finding this little gem. It perfectly captures the same spirit but with much prettier graphics and much more content.

던전레이드를 못잊어 구 스마트폰으로 게임을 즐기던 사람으로써 너무 만족스러워요 다른 어플과 비교해도 제일 느낌을 잘 살린거 같습니다! 이펙트 감소 설정이 있었음 좋겠습니다 (배경 검정에 불꽃 이펙트 간소화) 설명중에 업그레이드에 대한것도 추가해 주면 좋을거 같습니다

There’s no secret here - Dungeon Tracer is trying to fill the hole that was left by Dungeon Raid being delisted back when iOS dropped support for 32-bit applications. Let me be super clear. It fills it PERFECTLY. Everything you loved about Dungeon Raid is here - the depth of classes and races, the abilities on offer, special enemy mechanics, unlocks, and so on. The audio in particular is so spot on that I finally feel like I have my favourite game back again. If I had one suggestion, it would be to allow the player to toggle a plain background instead of the detailed castle background. It looks cool but I would prefer to turn on increased readability of the icons. A simplified icons option (eg. “Make this game look more like Dungeon Raid” option) could be cool too, although way more work so anyone would be crazy to expect it. Thank you for making this game and filling the considerable void left by Dungeon Raid. This game isn’t just a wannabe clone. It is a very respectable and nearly 100% authentic attempt at recreating that game and how it made me feel when playing it.

The “normal” level is too difficult. I’ve played for many hours and find that as you progress on normal The enemies SIGNIFICANTLY out number everything else on board. I can see on hard and levels above but normal? And I haven’t been able to unlock anything. At the very least make it to where you can unlock new characters and weapons on easy and use those same unlocks on harder levels to get more advanced characters and items. But since the easy level doesn’t give you any unlocks (which isn’t so easy at times) then it feels like a waste of time playing. I LOVE the concept and gameplay execution. But there’s no joy when you can’t advance. (Playing normal or harder). And when you do advance you get nothing out of except a high score (Playing easy). Better yet-why not make to where every-time you play (regardless of the difficulty level) the game keeps a running accumulative score. And when you reach certain score milestones you’ll get to unlock characters and items. That way no matter how hard the game gets -you know you’ll be rewarded if you hang in there. Please do a major update and implement this idea. Then it will be a five star game.
