For Wifi Porter & other models
Description (

Wifi Porter securely shares your network with a single tap or scan. The experience is amazing on an iPhone. Open the iPhone camera, point it at the QR code on Wifi Porter and you’ll be prompted immediately to connect. Use this app to configure One-Tap Wifi and the QR code portion of your Wifi Porter.}

I bought 2 porters. Only to find out the don’t connect directly to wifi. They only display the wifi password in a separate page which you have to manually copy and paste into the wifi settings in your phone. Better print out a QR wifi code on paper. Which does auto connect your phone to wifi.

The porter product is a great stylish item to have in my hope to reliably share my WiFi with guests. NFC is useful for new phones & the QR code you can customise during setup is neat for older devices. It even has a place to show the password if needed for older devices, far better than having to go to the router.

It’s just a QR Code for iPhones and to make matters worse, the QR code doesn’t even show up on the back of the wood block, and to make matters even worse, there is little to no documentation. Steer clear.

Don’t believe the ads if you are an iPhone user. Essentially the product is a less than fancy case to allow you to print a QR code that you cut out from a sheet of paper and insert into the transparent back of the wood block. A user then flips the block and uses his camera to scan the QR code. I’m not kidding. No tap and go as advertised. There are a lot cheaper ways to do this, and the wooden holder for the self-printed QR code isn’t worth the dollars.

This product and this app is a complete scam. It does not work as advertised. All it does is send you to a URL with the network name and password. It does not automatically log into the Wi-Fi network as advertised. I purchased two of these. What a rip off.
