This app the Kodansha learner’s dictionary is the best tool there is to learn Kanji systematically by following the blue book (Andrew Scott Conning’s) Kanji course, which is based on this dictionary . The simplicity of making bookmarks and list of relevant vocabulary is super convenient! All information can be reviewed in seconds with large font easy on the eyes. Highly recommended to anyone trying to master 2300-3000 kanji.

It’s a pleasure to use. I’d love to see some improvements in the future, such as automatic searching of copied clipboard items and the addition of color themes, at the very least, a dark mode to reduce eye strain.

Too bad that some companies exploit the users changing the version and making them to pay again for the software: too sad. I recommend they you buy the book physically, so the owner can not change the version and not charge you again!

It is really powerful in combination with the complementary apps. Recommended for learners. I would like to see a dark mode in the future, but the most important addition would be a way to write Kanji by strokes with the keyboard, similar to other apps.

This is a great resource for everything kanji. I’m using it currently to dig deeper into kanji covered with The Kodansha kanji learners course and on its own it’s a first rate dictionary with lots of cross references and searchability.

I wanted to use this app for a few months before I finally gave it a review. I am very happy with this purchase. It feels well organized and mirrors the feel of the book version. Be sure to tap on everything as there are a lot of small details packed in and the references to other kanji compounds and radicals are really helpful.

Il ne manque plus que le support du dark mode et ça sera parfait !

We've made some aesthetic adjustments to better suit modern devices including the removal of shadows around characters and the removal of letterboxing of the launch image. We also fixed an issue where audio playback of compound words was not working on the latest iOS. Lastly, we improved the contact form email template so that feedback from users can be handled as smoothly as possible.
