While still respecting the IT for its provision of news, both national and international I find its commentary, choice of feature writers , and editorial position can be best described as “slithering to the right” , generally unbalanced, if not partisan. While it is not yet a right wing rag I fear it is heading in that direction, saved only by its, as yet, very decent news coverage. It is to be hoped that the above position will change, however I fear that it will continue to pander to what it perceives to be its target audience, and thus to support the right of center, whose views it increasingly manifestly supports. Pity really.

Keeps needing to be updated every time in open the app. Very frustrating. Needs me to add a nickname to leave a review but any name I submit is taken??

The Irish Times is part of my dna - my father read it every morning and would comment to my mother on the news of the day; and I would go to school and relay what I remembered to my school teacher and friends! Thus a habit of a lifetime was established! I now read the paper on line; and then do the Crosaire crossword - I think I started doing cryptic crosswords before I went to college. For a while I lived in Australia and the UK so no Irish Times nor any newspaper which I trusted to give me a balanced view of what was going on. So now in my 80s I feel confident that ‘my’ newspaper is among the best in the world!

I find the online Irish Times far superior to the paper version. The principle benefits are a). Delivered to my bedroom each morning when I awake for a preview before breakfast. b). No more wandering around foreign towns and cities hoping to procure a copy of the Irish Times as it is delivered to my iPad. c). A substantial saving on the cost of the paper version and as I get 3 copies for my subscription my wife can read the paper the same time as I. d). A great back catalogue I can dip into at my leisure when required. e). No more ink stained hands.

Good writing albeit with an obvious left wing bias.

Reading the IT has been a daily ritual for over 50 years and each time i open the digital paper or read the hard copy at weekends i continue to be enlightened by considered and well written reporting and column pieces. The IT has become a vital part of my everyday.

Guys, The epaper to an expat is wonderful but… 1. Formats become stale, repetitive for too many years, stale out of date commentators who need recycling 2. Weekend review is jaded and needs a substantial overhaul 3. The business section is boring, lacks the type of analysis given to say the political section 4. In depth analysis, big read type content is lacking The e paper technology is clunky, crashes regularity with difficulty getting through to get it fixed, get feedback when one complains to prevent reoccurrence. You’re doing a great job but some spring cleaning required as your competition is getting better, your readers more demanding. Mark

An excellent daily read with honest news reporting and good variety of topics and opinion writers.
