I’m logged out of my work account and unable to log back in. I keep getting error messages. You’d think they’d give you some options to contact them for assistance- email or an 800 number, but there’s nothing. Just thankful I’m not actually traveling at the moment and really needing immediate assistance

Our company recently switched and I absolutely love the interface how intuitive it is how easy it is to book trips, I get to keep all my own status and points and it lets me know what is in and out of corporate parameters as far as spending I use it for flights cars, and hotels it’s perfect!

Receipts are not added automatically, so that I have to ask for it in the hotel and then add it via photo to the app.

I find Navan difficult to use. I booked a flight and reserved seats. When I went to check in before my flight my seat selection was gone. I had to sit in the last row by the bathroom. I received no notification from Navan my seat selection was not successful. When I tried to change my seat selection it said my session expired despite just logging on (this occurred 6 times). When I travel out of country and do expenses I cannot adjust the exchange rate to the actual rate charged by my VISA. On one dinner there is a $53 difference between what Navan is reimbursing me for and what my VISA is charging. I should not have to be out pocket continuously while traveling for business

I like the platform but plenty of quirks, name changes or combining first and middle names in flight bookings so you miss out or frequent flyer stuff unless you contact the airline.

Navan (formerly TripActions) is presented as a sophisticated, modern solution for corporate travel and expense management. However, its implementation—specifically the mandatory, non-negotiable insistence on a large-scale mobile application download—reveals a fundamental and deeply inappropriate flaw in its user experience philosophy. This policy is not merely inconvenient; it is actively hostile toward the traveling professional, especially those operating under real-world, global constraints. The Global Connectivity Disaster The core failure of this platform is its complete disregard for the connectivity reality faced by international travelers. My recent attempt to access a critical itinerary in a foreign country—a place where reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi is scarce and expensive data is managed by the megabyte—was met with an inexcusable requirement: downloading a massive, multi-hundred-megabyte application. In an era where every major service, from banking to social media, offers a light, functional mobile web experience precisely for these low-bandwidth scenarios, Navan forces a user to consume valuable, expensive, and often throttled international data just to view the information they need. This is a monumental failure in design and a direct imposition of cost and stress onto the employee. The very notion of a travel platform that actively hinders access to necessary information when a user is most vulnerable (abroad, potentially in transit) is baffling. The Question of Intent: Control vs. Convenience The mandatory app download begs a crucial question regarding the company’s priority structure: Why is a simple, browser-based log-in functionality—a standard of modern web development—deliberately locked out? When basic itinerary and booking details could be instantly accessed via a mobile-optimized web portal, the only logical conclusion for forcing a massive native app installation is the prioritization of platform control and data capture. A native application grants the company deep access to phone resources, background data, location services, and push notification infrastructure that are unavailable or limited via a web browser. Forcing the app download feels less like an attempt to improve the travel experience and more like a strategy to maximize the collection of granular, real-time data, regardless of the user's real-time struggle. This choice is a cynical trade-off: The company gains enhanced data mining capabilities, while the end-user loses control, time, battery life, and money due to unnecessary data consumption. It is a user-hostile feature that places corporate analytics over essential traveler access. Recommendation: Fundamental Re-evaluation Required The mandatory app policy is not a bug; it is a profound philosophical error. Until Navan provides a robust, fully functional, and non-mandatory mobile web experience for users needing quick, low-bandwidth access to their accounts and itineraries, it cannot genuinely claim to be a world-class travel management platform. Forcing an international traveler to burn hundreds of megabytes on a critical infrastructure download when they desperately need flight or hotel details is an absolute user experience failure. Companies considering Navan must weigh the supposed convenience of its expense integration against the very real possibility of isolating and frustrating their employees while they are furthest from home and most dependent on reliable access. Do not confuse integration with usability. Navan's implementation, in this critical aspect, makes it fundamentally unusable for the modern global traveler.
