The Somali Contemporary New Testament (full Bible in development) translates the meaning of the original-language texts, and it is easy to read and understandable. The target audience is native Somalis throughout East Africa and the diaspora. All groups will be able to understand the central dialect and commonly accepted orthography used in this Bible. This translation is primarily intended as a devotional and outreach text, meant for both Christians and non-Christians, and suitable for Somali youth. The translators used the NIV as the basis of their work with frequent reference to the Hebrew and Greek texts to clarify meaning. The translation includes book introductions and uses limited footnotes to explain important ancient cultural practices. All doubtful verses are included in footnotes.}
