For the calculations in this app, the National Electric Code (NEC) from the United States, the Mexican standard NOM 001 SEDE 2012, and various technical books are used as references.
Comply with the requirements of an Electrical Inspector.
Notes are included to explain the calculation procedures and details that must be considered. Additionally, it is specified if any restrictions apply only in Mexico or to a specific standard. We also have a website with tutorials on various calculations.
With this application, it is possible to calculate conduit fill, wire size, motor amperage, transformer amperage, fuses, breakers, voltage drop, conductor size based on voltage drop, and includes a table showing the amperage capacity of different copper and aluminum wire sizes.
Furthermore, notes are included in each section of the app to guide you better in using the application and provide important information about each calculation.
1. Motor Calculations:
- Amperage.
- Load.
- Minimum conductor size.
- Protection device capacity.
2. Transformer Calculations:
- High and low voltage amperage.
- Load.
- Minimum conductor size.
- Fuse.
- Breaker.
- Minimum grounding conductor size.
3. Conductor Selection:
The minimum conductor is selected based on amperage, insulation type, continuous and non-continuous loads, grouping factor, and temperature factor.
Another section calculates the conductor size based on the maximum allowable voltage drop.
4. Conduit fill calculator:
The conduit size is calculated based on the conductor sizes, the number of conductors, and the conduit material.
5. Voltage Drop:
Voltage drop is a critical parameter when designing an electrical project. With this app, you can calculate it both in volts and as a percentage.}
