UPDATE: NO PROBLEMS WITH A NEWER MODERN PHONE.. Ignore the text following... Stays on the logo for a minute then I can login. its slow like it is now connected to an ancient server that Is overloaded. 2 weeks now. seems to have been since the last update. It does work though eventually. 1 star until they fix it. Addition: you could help by just fixing the app, robotperson.

You can only use the app once after downloading. After you have used it once and left it for a day or so, when you come back to the app you get the splash screen and it immediately closes. Clearing the cache and removing app data does nothing. You must uninstall and reinstall the app to gain access to your bank account whenever you want to use it.

The app has good functionality, but I do need to keep switching from the official Google Keyboard, to the stock Samsung Keyboard, due to HSBC app security. On the one hand, it's great security protection that none of my other banking apps insist on, but it's very inconvenient to have to switch keyboards. The interest rates aren't very competitive, which doesn't encourage me to fully bank with just HSBC.

The app is awful, locked out of my account. I couldn't generate code even following the instructions. It's been stressful trying to access account. To access on-line banking I need to generate codes through mobile app which I can't access because I've changed my phone. Absolute nightmare 😫

Satisfactory however, when routed to overseas call centres to address questions or issues, dealings are very frustrating (slow and often transfers to other departments particularly when reporting suspected fraud). UK centres far more efficient.

Ive been using the app for a few years. It worked fine until HSBC decided it was a good idea to "improve" something that worked and didnt need changing. For almost a year the app wont scan cheques. I just deleted and reinstalled the app to see if that worked and now it wants my driving licence and a face scan just to log on! My advice is use a different bank, I will be now HSBC made it more difficult to access the app and now I cant access online banking without the app. Its beyond a joke now.
