150+ Walks in Staffordshire
Description (
Characters: 1667 of 4000
)
With mystery, magic and stunning scenery, the county of Staffordshire offers some of the most fascinating and picturesque walks, trails and hikes in the country. The Staffordshire Walks app includes simple to use GPS-enabled route maps covering over 150 amazing walks of between 1 and 10 miles throughout Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. **Please note: This app has a subscription fee for accessing the 150+ walks in Staffordshire. There is a free trial period where you can try any of the walks for free before deciding if you want to continue the subscription** Walks include diverse woodland, peaceful riverside, challenging hill walking, open countryside, coastal adventures and city parks. Detailed maps that track your progress are available offline, so they still work even if you have no internet signal when you are out enjoying the walks. The maps also include contour detail that helps you to evaluate the difficulty of the walk before you set off. Filter by woodland, waterside, hill walk and pub walk to easily find the walk that's perfect for your mood. After each walk, you can fill in the quick questionnaire in the app to feed back valuable information about the walk. We will then use this data to improve the app's walks over time and some of your comments and ratings could be published against each walk to help other users. Very clunky, and its not free as the adverts lead you to believe, to gain access to the maps it asks for £14.99 a month and for that price its just pathetic and offer no real use, doesn't use location even though it requests it and uses that to generate links to walks which then asks you to pay! You can get better walks from a simple websearch (which are free).

You have to subscribe to a 30 day trial to access the information about the walks. Subscription didn't work making the app useless.

How do I cancel my free trial before I get charged?

Always tricks to lure you in, most of the walks are public, signposted and owned by others. So why you feel it's appropriate to charge is beyond me.

UI is good. Walks are boring. Maybe in some universe it's a handy navigation tool if you have no access to the internet and happen to be in Staffordshire but for £2 a month I'd expect more than these. Most are just public parks or walkways. Why are there no real walking paths or trails like Wulfrun, Monarch's or Beacon Ways? £2 a month really isn't a lot but still not worth it in my opinion. If they added cycle paths and/or those "real" trails I'd change to 5 stars and buy yearly in a heartbeat.

Haven't subscribed as yet. Plenty of walks to choose from for the average person. More avid walkers will more than likely know these routes already or find them themselves. Will not be using the app as cannot see an option for accessibility eg wheelchair or pram friendly . There is a bit of description of how gentle or difficult the walk is, but not enough to know further suitability.

If you're looking for some different walks around the area then this app is great. Easy to use. Have fun
