🂡 GIN RUMMY RULES 🃁
🎯 Goal & Setup
• 2 players, standard 52-card deck, Aces are low (A=1).
• Each player gets 10 cards, and the rest go in a stock pile, top card turned face-up for the discard pile.
Form melds:
• Set = 3–4 cards of the same rank.
• Run = 3+ cards in the same suit in sequence.
• Keep deadwood (unmatched cards) as low as possible
• Cards score: A=1, 2-10 = face value, • J/Q/K=10.
🔄 Turn Flow & Ending a Hand
• On your turn: Draw (from stock or discard pile) → Discard one card.
• You may Knock if deadwood ≤ 10 points → discard, reveal hand, opponent can “lay off” onto your melds.
• Go Gin if you have no deadwood → opponent cannot lay off.
• Game ends when someone knocks or goes Gin, then scores are calculated.
🏆 Scoring & Winning
• Knocking: score = opponent’s deadwood − your deadwood.
• Gin: score = opponent’s deadwood + 25 bonus.
• Undercut: if opponent’s deadwood ≤ yours when you knock, they score difference + 25 bonus.
• First to 100 (or agreed score) wins the match.
