This app is the applied product of a PhD research project focused on the optimum design of multiphase separators. Through the course of this project, the most popular sizing approach of Svrcek-Monnery was modified to implement oilfield phase separation data as well as the results of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation of the process. "Two Phase Separator" app provides detailed results for all well-known classic methods, i.e. GPSA, York Demister, Theoretical, as well as the novel Realistic-CFD approach. Note, the popular classic methods are usually too conservative and specify extremely oversized separators. The Realistic-CFD approach, on the other hand, proposes more economical separators that can successfully accomplish the separation task.
