DM1 offers 5 main sections: 1 - THE STEP SEQUENCER frees your imagination with a smart use of the multi-touch screen. Just turn on and off steps in your sequence with the tip of your fingers to create cool beats, or unexpected rhythms! 2 - THE DRUM PADS simply lets you play and record the beat that tickles your fingers. No need to be a first-class drummer, automatic quantize does the work for you. 3 - THE MIXER for quick and subtle sound mixing of your drum kits. Featuring settings for volume, pitch, sample length, custom drum kit element for each channel, mute and solo mode. 4 - THE FX TRACKPADS a creative duo of FX trackpads to distort, modulate and transform your beats. Near worthless for professional use. Getting separated tracks out of this app is near impossible(for mixing and mastering in a DAW). Constant crashes on even the smallest of projects. Getting mixed down projects is hit or miss. Thankfully there are more options with master mix down, but on3 has to wonder about the code base. Must be a mess of unnecessary repetition. Some options work great and some crash reliably when creating the audio. It’s fun to play with, but if you were aspiring to use it in a professional context, it will probably break your heart.

the DM1 is the Best Drum Machine on the appstore and it’s Free i got this app since the first time and really enjoyed it even today on ipad pro and new ios it’s still running great . I really recommend this music & Drum app, spread the virus to your friends and family, a Big thanks to the developers who did an awesome job on this project !

L’app funziona abbastanza bene e con alcuni kit si riesce pure a fare belle cose. Purtroppo ci sono limiti visto che probabilmente è un app più per divertimento che per fare cose professionali. in breve: - C’è un bug sull’export che ogni tanto crasha ; - Non si possono esportare tutti i pattern come singoli wav ma bisogna exportarli uno a uno - Alcuni kit sono inconsistenti: in alcuni kit la cowbell fa un suono strano. - I kit di percussioni boh…non si capisce cosa siano: mancano claves, congas, bongos, ecc. - i kit di strumenti non si capisce come si usino, quale tonalità siano e a cosa servano visto che non si possono miscelare con kit di drum per formare ritmi complessi fatti da drum e pizzicato per esempio ma si deve fare il kit nuovo “a mano”. - se hai un iPhone devi ricomprare l’app anche per iphone

… years ago, but not that much. Maybe with the then current audio copy/audiobus features. But no updates in years suggests this apps been abandoned ..

j’ai beaucoup utilisé DM1, c’est resté à mon gout une super boite a rythme durant des années avec des kits de son sympas et pas mal de plus à coté. Mais il est temps de la mettre à jour, a minima le support AU v3 pour une boite a rythme c’est devenu indispensable en 2023

I use this app for teaching… Guitar and bass. It used to default to the last pattern I wrote, which was useful… now it always goes to this “song,” and I have to go through a few more steps and rewrite my pattern. By default distortion is turned on… I don’t know if it just doesn’t make sense.

Tons of great kits and sounds. Easy to use. Would like to see a note repeat function to be able to make 8th note triplets on hi hats, for example, similar to the beat sequencer in GarageBand.

No FILES support when managing samples! Really? It’s 2021! AudioShare support is broken. The entire user samples functionality is not working properly, it crashes upon using it 9/10 times. No copying/pasting of samples recorded with a mic between individual kit instruments (if this was possible one could easily create slices from just one recording to build entire kit easily). MIDI is broken. For whatever reason it will NOT send or receive MIDI signals from DM2. It will NOT send MIDI to BeatMaker 3. I tried multiple methods and settings on both ends, tried directly, via AUM, Audiobus , it simply does not NOT work no matter what I do. Most other apps other apps are ok, for example, it receivesMIDI from Ruismaker FM just fine. It was one of my first apps on my iPad in 2012. I’m happy to say that it is still relevant even though it hasn’t changed much since its first version. Something about the ease of use of this app that makes me revisit it often. There are couple of thing that could make it significantly better though: *** Variable length / step count for individual tracks. This would allow polyrhythmic rhythms. DM2 has this feature. *** Step division. The preview of the upcoming new app from Fingerlab shows that steps are subdivided, I hope that this feature makes it into DM1 too! I also hope that, unlike in the DM2, step subdivisions create unique MIDI notes. *** Custom kit creation could be made much more powerful by allowing mixing instruments from different kits. Currently this is not possible easily. *** I wish it was possible to change instrument assignments per tracks. This way you could quickly audition different instruments for an already created pattern. This would also simplify things when using DM1 with and external MIDI source. And if a given instrument could be doubled, that combined with the adjustable individual track length would allow amazing rhythms. *** AUv3 is the future. I hope DM1 becomes an AUv3 instrument!
