It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™
WHAT TO EXPECT:
We start one of the USA’s most famous and classic road trips, the Overseas Highway, U.S. 1, from Miami and then jump from Key to Key, all the way to Key West. On the return journey, we will point out all the best stops again, along with some different options, just like a brand new tour. You can start the tour in Key West itself if you've arrived by ferry or by plane.
The tour commentary will point out all the best things to see and do. And we have a huge collection of fascinating stories from the region.
Along the journey, we’ll track the story of how a determined Henry Flagler fought engineering, financing, hurricanes and some ridicule to build an Overseas Railway. Those tracks forged the initial route and became the foundation on which the road was eventually built upon.
We'll talk about famous musicians, writers and more who've been charmed by the Florida Keys and Key West's unique location and way of life. Some arrived because of shipwrecks, some came to chase huge fighting fish. So many interesting characters.
We’ll point out areas to keep your eyes peeled for the endangered Key Deer, the smallest of North American deer and visit the small beach at Bahia Honda for an up close up photo of the old rail bridge.
The tour ends with a loop of Key West, showing all the best places to visit. Touch the striped buoy that represents the Southernmost Point in the Continental USA. Take some time to wander Duval Street. You’ll quickly find yourself slowing to Key West pace.
From Miami, the tour officially starts on the A1A from either Miami Beach or downtown Miami. You can also start touring right in Key West. Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route.

BATTERY USAGE:
++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle.
IPADs:
** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note that Apple only install these on the iPad Wifi + Cellular models. Wifi only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically.
DOWNLOADING:
The app is larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks.
