The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with the FreeStyle Libre Sensor. Now you can monitor your glucose on your phone without routine finger pricks! [1] Check your glucose by holding your phone near your Sensor. You can use the app to: * View your current glucose reading, trend arrow, and glucose history * Add notes to track your food, insulin use, and exercise * See glucose reports, including your Ambulatory Glucose Profile * Connect to health care professionals and carers with LibreView and LibreLinkUp [2] Why prick when you can scan?[1] "SMARTPHONE COMPATIBILITY Compatibility may vary between phones and operating systems. Learn more about compatible phones at http://FreeStyleLibre.com. USING YOUR APP AND READER WITH THE SAME SENSOR If you like, you can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app and the Reader with the same Sensor. Start the Sensor with the Reader first, then scan with your phone. Remember that FreeStyle LibreLink and Readers do not share data with each other. For complete information on a device, scan your Sensor every 8 hours with that device; otherwise, your reports will not include all your data. APP INFORMATION FreeStyle LibreLink is intended for measuring glucose levels in people with diabetes when used with a Sensor. For more information on how to use FreeStyle LibreLink, refer to the User’s Manual, which can be accessed through the app. If you require a printed User’s Manual, contact Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Support. Learn more about FreeStyle LibreLink at http://FreeStyleLibre.com." [1] If you are using the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you must also have access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as the App does not provide one. A finger prick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels, when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels, or if hypoglycaemia or impending hypoglycaemia is reported by the Sensor, or when symptoms do not match the Sensor readings. [2] Use of the FreeStyle LibreLink and LibreLinkUp apps requires registration with the LibreView system, which is provided by Abbott and Newyu, Inc. FreeStyle, Libre and related brand marks are marks of Abbott. For additional legal notices and terms of use, go to http://FreeStyleLibre.com. }

Works ok, but when we compare to competitors (especially Dexcom), this app really misses key features like alerts customization and a watch app.

I have been using Freestyle Libre, and currently Freestyle Libre 2 for over 7 years. I keep having issues with messages that the sensor is unavailable, try again in 10 minutes….I contacted the helpline and was told the operating system in my iPhone is too new!!! So I was sent a dedicated reader to correct this issue. Well not only did it not correct the issue (did make it happen less often, but still happened nonetheless), but it meant I had to carry two devices of virtually the same size around. I have an Apple Watch and I would love to be able to view my Libre data on my watch. I am increasingly frustrated, seeing commercials for Dexcom where they are checking their blood sugar on their watch and I seem to be unable to consistently do it on my iPhone, let alone my watch!!

I thought this was supposed to be an improvement. Maybe I am missing something, unless your phone is in your pocket you lose the readings for the time when the phone is just literally out of sight. Disappointed.

Libre makes the best glucose censor, but the mobile app is amateur level, such as: in mobile silent mode, high/low glucose alarms vibrate only once and never repeated, this is very dangerous when one is asleep. Please repeat the alarm and make a snooze function, just like the Tomato app does.

Good app. Solid and provides me all I need to know. It would ideal if scanning the sensor could be done via an Apple Watch and the info was accessible in Apple Health. This is the only app I have that doesn’t link to it.

It has been over 4 months now since last update. Last OS supported on iPhone was 16.1. We are now on 16.4.1 and still waiting for an update on any of the Libre platform apps. The app still doesn’t scan successfully each time and sometimes needs to 3 or 4 attempts to provide a reading even after registering the sensor. Unfortunately I can’t put no stars but that is what I would if I was permitted. Pathetic.

I have called the number posted in response to my comment and expressed my issues with the app months ago with customer service and there has still been no update. The last iOS supported is 16.1 and now we are on iOS 16.4. The bugs I have experienced with the scanning needing repeated attempts prevail. Why is the support for your app so bad? For a medical company that prides itself on being on the cutting edge with its products there is a real disconnect with the app that supports the product.

It is very hit and miss when scanning. You have to sometimes close and reopen the app to get a reading or quit scanning then hit scanning again then keep holding the end of the phone to the sensor to try and get the app to detect the sensor. Sometimes it “dings” to say that it has recorded a reading but it doesn’t display it. And yes I have restarted my phone multiple times without any change in performance or response with the app. I don’t know what is taking so long to create an update that rectifies this issue that didn’t exist in the older version of the app, especially given how much it the sensors cost in the first place. Abbott haven’t updated the software in months and are now two updates behind the latest OS version for iPhone which given the time passed since they came out is egregious. This also means that you are unable to get the security updates for the phone due to how far behind the support is for the app.
